Public roadblock condemns panchayat administration for refusing to provide basic amenities including water and electricity claiming to be Naxalite areas. parthiban Chinna Ganakampatti, also known as Naxalite Siva, was shot dead by police in chinna Ganakampatti village in Nochchipatty panchayat, Uthangarai, krishnagiri district, 15 years ago.
It is alleged that no Naxalite funds have been allocated in the area for the last 15 years and no provision has been made on behalf of the panchayat administration for basic amenities including drinking water and electricity. During the night, the people of chinna Kanakampatti area blocked the road with water jugs with their livestock, claiming that there was no point in repeatedly petitioning the authorities, including the district Collector, regarding the matter.
Police, including Uthangarai police Inspector Lakshmi, who arrived at the scene after learning about the incident, held talks with those involved in the road blockade. Following this, the public dispersed. Traffic from Uttankari to Dharmapuri via Nochchipatti was disrupted for more than an hour. people find it very difficult with no proper water and electricity in their area and government also not taking any measures even after making many complaints.
