Beer made from this insect in Japan
In japan beer is made by a distillation method called 'Kabutokama'. This method is used since the earliest 20th century. Most of the countries in the world, eat food from plants or even meat like beef, chicken, etc. But many countries like china and South Asian countries also eat insects, flies as a part of their food which does seem like a little of the charts for us but it is also a part of their culture. The thought of drinking itself will give a great shock but Japanese people drink it with great joy and enthusiasm. This cockroach drink is called the 'Insect Sour'. The 'Konchu Sour' otherwise called is made from Cockroaches found in freshwater which are caught and boiled in the water and kept for fermentation for three to four days.
The juice from the boiled water is taken and converted into a drink. According to a Japanese chef, the male Taiwanese cockroach is very tasty. It is also noted these are eaten boiled or also used as a seasoning for the stews and soups. The actual cost of this beer is Rs 450.
