Helping as a peek into the times gone by, photographs are so much larger than just a means of nostalgia. It is a vital tool to maintain the history and an efficient mode of storytelling that exceeds the boundaries of communications and time. Therefore, it only seems appropriate that a day is set out to acknowledge and acknowledge the spell of photography. World Photography Day is commemorated on august 19 every year, across the world. Nuns plead to GOD? But Military too? 


As Myanmar found itself in turmoil after the aggressive military ouster of civilian chief Aung San Suu Kyi, one photo depicted the fact of compassion and courage in the war zone. The main subject was a nun who knelt before a crowd of heavily armed police deputies and urged them to spare "the children, little ones" and take away her life in return. This image, with the catholic nun's hands spread across, became the symbol of empathy, peace and bravery.

As india was in the clutches of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, life losses due to the virus grew to odd numbers. This also put the healthcare systems and cremation services under colossal strain, with many families noticing it difficult to give their cherished ones a proper cremation. The painful tragedy was captured in photography that displayed an aerial view of the mass cremation in New Delhi.
