Apple iphone 16 Pro And Pro Max Display Production On Track, May Start Next Month

Display production taking place at the same time as last year indicates that the iphone 16 is on track for a mid-September debut, similar to last year’s Apple iphone 15 line.

As we are edging closer to the much-anticipated september launch of the apple iphone 16 lineup, we can expect to see more details about the phones surfacing via leaks. One recent update comes from display analyst Ross Young, who said that the apple iphone 16 display's production will kick off in June, the media has reported.

In his post on X, formerly Twitter, Young mentions that production of panels for the new iphone 16 lineup is set to begin in June, data-aligning with the schedule of last year's Apple iphone 15 production. Young further stated that out of the entire iphone 16 lineup, which is expected to include four models again, the iphone 16 and 16 Pro are projected to have the highest production volumes in June, with displays for the 16 Plus and 16 Pro Max likely ramping up later in the summer, says a report by 9to5Mac.

Meanwhile, famed apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iphone 16 Pro Max will feature a new battery with higher energy density than the current iphone 15 Pro Max. If apple maintains the same battery capacity as the 2023 flagship model, this could result in improved battery life for the upcoming device. This year, Apple is expected to increase the data-size of two models in the iphone 16 series. According to previous reports and recently leaked dummy images, the iphone 16 Pro and iphone 16 Pro Max will feature 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively -- each 0.2 inches larger than last year's Pro and Pro Max models.

The other two models are expected to retain the same display data-sizes as their predecessors.

Meanwhile, while Apple's Pro devices currently offer up to 1,000 nits of brightness, the rumored iphone 16 Pro models could provide a 20 percent boost in brightness for standard dynamic range (SDR) content, alongside slightly larger screens. Additionally, these smartphones are expected to debut with an upgraded processor and a new 'Capture' button.

Reports suggest that alongside the increase in brightness, the iphone 16 Pro models will see changes in display data-size. apple is reportedly planning to enlarge the display panels for both the iphone 16 Pro and iphone 16 Pro Max models. Allegedly, the iphone 16 Pro will sport a 6.27-inch (159.31 mm) display, while the iphone 16 Pro Max will feature a larger 6.85-inch (174.06 mm) display.
