Indian Railways: Coming Soon Vande Sadharan Express..!?
With the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train expected to start service shortly, indian Railways is all set to introduce a new semi-high-speed train system soon. indian Railways is the backbone of India's transport system. Although the indian Railways operates relatively at a slower speed than the road network and the aviation sector, innovations such as the Vande Bharat Express and RapidX (Namo Bharat) trains have certainly made the railway sector the best in terms of speed. With the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train expected to start service shortly, indian Railways is set to introduce a new semi-high-speed train system soon. They are Vande Badal Express or Amrit Bharat Express. More precisely, it is expected to launch in december this year.
Vande Badal Express is the brainchild of Vande Bharat Express, the country's fastest train. However, the new semi-high-speed train will be very different from the Vande Bharat Express. Unlike indian Railways' Vande Bharat Express, it will be used on long intercity journeys of more than 800 km. Also, these trains will be used for day-night trips.
Vande Sadharan: Coaches
Vande Sadharan Express will have 22 coaches and 2 locomotives. Unlike the Vande Bharat Express, it will be a push-pull system. The unreserved class will have 12 sleeper coaches and 8 coaches. In total, the Vande Badal Express train can carry 1,800 passengers. Also, this train will have 2 luggage compartments. Vande Sadharan Express has a maximum speed of 130 kmph but is expected to reach a speed of around 110 kmph considering the factors and obstacles on the track. It will use two WAP-5 engines in a slightly modified form.
Vande Sadharan Express: Routes
As of now, there are two routes - Mumbai-Patna and Delhi-Mumbai-Amrit Bharat Express or Vande Sadaran Express. In the next phase, more routes will be added. The train is also expected to run on the above routes but after some time - Jammu-Chennai, Tambaram-Howrah, Patna-New Delhi, Howrah-New Delhi, Hyderabad-New Delhi, Ernakulam-Guwahati, and Delhi-Jodhpur-Bandra Terminus. Initially, Vande Normal Express will be a non-AC train. It will have sealed gangways between the compartments, CCTV cameras, sensor-based taps, electrical outlets, bio-toilets, LED lighting, modern switches, fans, and a passenger information system. Also, each seat will have mobile charging ports.
