Will govt monitor your WhatsApp chats?
A message is becoming quite viral on the Internet and social media, in which it has been claimed that the government of india will monitor whatsapp chats and will also take action against people. If you have also received this message then be careful. This message is fake. In fact check done by press Information Bureau, it has been found that the information given in this message is completely wrong. It has also been said in this message that the government has issued guidelines for this. PIB Fact Check has clarified in its tweet that no such guideline has been issued.
What has been claimed in Fake Circulation?Interestingly, fake circulation associates the number of ticks for a message with some random actions. For example- three blue ticks for a whatsapp message, it says, it would mean that the government has noticed your message. If the number of ticks is 2 blue and 1 red, it means that the government can take action against you. Whereas one blue tick and two red ticks will suggest that the government is investigating your data. And three red marks will indicate that the government has initiated action and you will receive a summons from the court. Note that this is all fake, false, untrue and ridiculous. Don't fall for such messages. Also, Meta-owned whatsapp claims that the messages are end-to-end encrypted and cannot be read by other people, even WhatsApp.
