Hydrogen car..! Doom or Destiny..!?
Efforts are underway to use alternative fuels to reduce and mitigate environmental impact not only in
india but around the world. In that sense, the use of electric
vehicles as an alternative to
petrol and
diesel is on the rise. Sales of electric cars and electric bikes are also on the rise in India. A hydrogen-powered electric
car has also been introduced. Union
minister Nitin Gadkari arrived in
parliament yesterday (March 30) in this hydrogen car. Since then everyone's been searching for this car.
Hydrogen fuel is the cleanest fuel that does not emit pollutants. With the help of renewable energy, green hydrogen is produced by the separation of hydrogen atoms and
oxygen atoms in water. The performance of each fuel is calculated with its gravimetric density capacity. Thus, compared to fuels such as
diesel and gas, hydrogen is 3 times more efficient. That is, its gravimetric density is 120 MJ / kg.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor Company has announced plans to launch the first hydrogen-powered electric
car in India. This hydrogen-based electric
car is named 'Toyota Mirai'. The word 'Mirai' is depicting the future. The charging time is less than 5 minutes. Using Hydrogen as the fuel, it can run on batteries. It can go up to 650 km after fully charging.
With such a comfortable hydrogen
car just being introduced in
india, many companies are coming forward to manufacture and sell hydrogen cars in
india depending on the popularity of the people. Thus when hydrogen cars become available in the market, prices may fall due to competition from companies. Hydrogen cars are sure to mix in the future due to factors including rising
petrol and
diesel prices and
air pollution.
