The first solar powered cereal refinery in India comes from this state
A totally solar-powered cereal refinery has been built near sivakasi for the first time in the country. Small grains (horseradish, millet, taro, sorghum, rye, white maize) are allotted to Virudhunagar district based on ODOP per district under the Prime Minister's Small Enterprises Consolidation Program, and farmers are encouraged to cultivate them.
The national government will grant a 35% subsidy (up to Rs. 10 lakh) for the establishment of a first-level refinery and value-added station as part of this. Farmers will be able to convert and sell it as a value-added product at the same facility that produces the minor regulations. A bank loan is being granted for the purpose of establishing a Small Grain Refinery for Agricultural Entrepreneurs who have been trained by the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Commerce or the tamil Nadu Rural Development Project.
As a result, a farmer named Indira has invested Rs. 5.5 lakhs in a small grain mill in Kallipatti village near sivakasi in Virudhunagar district. Solar energy is used to power all of the machines here. "The refinery is equipped with a grain cleaning machine, a stone removal machine, and a tanner," Ramesh, Deputy Director, Department of Agribusiness and Commerce, and Agriculture Officer, Muthiah, stated.
