Satellite Internet: Elon Musk enters India...!

Starlink, Elon Musk's satellite internet company, will soon launch Internet services in India. 


The announcement comes days after the Center asked Starlink to obtain the necessary permits to provide satellite-based Internet services in the country. 


If there are no obstacles, apply for a commercial license on or before january 31, 2022.

The Company cannot provide services in india without obtaining a license. Sanjay Bhargava, Country Director, Star Link, says in a LinkedIn post.


The company plans to install 80 per cent of the equipment in rural areas. 

Sanjay announced that SpaceX now has a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary in india that can apply for licenses and open bank accounts in India. 


He said the company has already received 5,000 pre-orders in India. However, the company has not sought a license from the government of india to operate in india, so it cannot be processed at present.

 Starlink customers were charged $ 99 or $ 7,350 for being part of the priority list. If the services are active, the amount will be adjusted with the monthly fee.
