Delhi gets a Full Power Supply!

The Union Power Ministry has directed NTPC and TVC to ensure that delhi receives a continuous supply of electricity. In recent weeks, there has been a severe scarcity of coal. Six states have raised concerns about power generation, including the country's capital, Delhi. In a recent letter to prime minister Modi on the electricity issue, delhi Chief minister arvind kejriwal stated that if coal supplies to power plants are not boosted, the national capital will be thrown into darkness.


The Ministry of Coal, on the other hand, has claimed that there is enough coal to meet the needs of the power plants and that the power supply will not be disrupted. The Union Ministry of Power has directed NTPC and TVC to supply delhi with full power. The Ministry of Power claims that:


The Union Ministry of Power gave instructions to ensure an appropriate supply of power to NTPC and TVC in delhi, based on the power announced to delhi DISCOMs in the last ten days. This would ensure that electricity is available as needed by Delhi's power distribution corporations.


The following instructions have been given to this end: If any State does not sell or allocate electricity in the transaction, the amount of electricity allocated to that State will be temporarily lowered or withheld. This electricity will be reallocated to states that are in desperate need of it.
