Vikas had already proposed me for marriage in maldives with a ring, but my mother was like it was the first marriage in the family and since I am her only daughter, she wanted a grand party with all the rituals. Also, he explained to me that even though Vikas had given me a ring, I had not given it to him. So according to him, we both did not exchange rings. Roka ceremony took place and then this time I gave the ring to Vikas as well. As far as choosing his birthday for the ceremony is concerned, it all happened by chance. Our Panditji chose the date and coincidentally it happened to be my birthday."

When asked why did she choose goa as the destination for her roka ceremony with her engagement? To this the actress said, "Because our first trip as a couple was in goa and that too in the same hotel where we got engaged. So this place holds a special place." Even though Roka is usually a very small affair, the number of people was so large that we could not accommodate them in our house, so we chose a destination for that.”
