Jimmy & Kim's Final Phase In Better Call Saul's Howard Scam Explained

SIBY JEYYA
While jimmy and Kim's manufactured Rand Casimiro photographs are meant to make Howard doubt the judge's impartiality, they have a hidden agenda. jimmy obtained a stimulant drug from Dr. Caldera, Better Call Saul's criminal vet, in the season 6 episode "Axe & Grind." Drops of this substance are smeared across the forged images before being snatched up and rushed to the waiting private investigator in a brown envelope. Howard Hamlin is the only person who comes into contact with the prints because jimmy and Kim both wear gloves (and the PI handles the package). The stimulant dilates his pupils, causes jitters, and generally mimics drug addiction symptoms.
Howard Hamlin arrives at the Sandpiper mediation conference already smelling like a barrel of espresso, so when he recognises Rand Casimiro as the man jimmy was bribing in the photographs taken by his "private investigator," he loses his cool. The other attendees, particularly Cliff Main, are sceptical of the claims and notice Howard's sweaty, wide-eyed state, but it is jimmy and Kim's pièce de résistance when the PI's images are brought into the room. Howard had no idea that his false detective had swapped Jimmy's Casimiro images for the Frisbee set. When the outraged Hamlin shows his coworkers these worthless photos, he appears even more disconnected from reality.
Jimmy and Kim's strategy is working just as planned. In front of Sandpiper's reps, Howard, dressed as some weird drug addict, delivers a fatal blow to the case. Now that they're in charge, Sandpiper's lawyers, Schweikart and Cokely, make a lesser offer every day until the dispute is resolved. Even though Howard may be able to prove his innocence because the PI's phone number was incorrectly altered, Cliff Main correctly points out that the damage has already been done.
