The Witcher Season 3 Image: First Look At Geralt, Ciri & Yennefer's Return
With a new set shot featuring Henry Cavill, Freya Allen, and Anya Chalotra together, The Witcher season 3 officially begins filming. As Geralt of Rivia, the titular monster hunter, Cavill leads the cast of the Netflix series as he travels around the mediaeval environment known as the Continent on various jobs. Geralt meets Chalotra's Yennefer of Vengerberg, a quarter-elf sorceress who aspires to be one of the world's most powerful mages and falls in love with The Witcher, during his travels. Geralt also discovers his shared fate with Cirilla "Ciri" Fiona Elen Riannon, the crown princess of Cintra who is fleeing Nilfgaardian soldiers after her kingdom's destruction.
Geralt finally met Ciri in Season 2 of The Witcher, and took her to his home of Kaer Morhen, where Witchers are born and taught to fight monsters. While there, Geralt must prepare Ciri for the dangers that lie ahead, as well as learn about her darker abilities, which could plunge the world into disarray. Meanwhile, Yennefer is discovered to have survived the Battle of Sodden and is seeking to be set free from the elves who have imprisoned her and reclaim her powers.
