Moon Knight Episode 1 Easter Eggs & Marvel References Explained

G GOWTHAM
All of the Marvel allusions and easter eggs in moon Knight episode 1 are listed here. moon Knight, Disney+'s latest addition to Kevin Feige's MCU realm, comes hard on Clint Barton's heels, but oscar Isaac is a far cry from merry larking and amusing LARPing. Isaac plays Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift shop employee at London's National Art Gallery, in the moon Knight premiere. Steven claims that he "wanders about" at night, but as revealed later in the episode, he suffers from DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), and "Steven Grant" is just one of his many internal identities.

The formidable assassin known as Marc Spector is one of these alters, and the back-and-forth between them takes moon Knight's debut from london to the Alps, via ancient Egypt. As a result, moon Knight isn't your usual MCU product - and the same can be said for its easter egg philosophy. Whereas Marvel fans are used to (nay, demand) references to previous MCU characters and events, moon Knight has so far been left alone. The casual fan would have no idea they're seeing a Marvel property if it weren't for the renowned beginning title board.

Glass-Filled Shoes

Moon Knight gets off to an unusual start, with Ethan Hawke's cult leader villain Arthur Harrow packing his shoes with glass before putting them on. This introduction montage is most likely a nod to Harrow's Marvel comics counterpart, assuming he isn't preparing to be the MCU's Derren Brown.
