One of the main cast members of Peacemaker weighs in on the possibility of a second season. The series was created by james Gunn as a spinoff of The Suicide Squad, with much of the same cast and a focus on the titular star, who assassinated one of the movie's main characters. It debuted in mid-January and has quickly gained a following because to its absurd humour, unadulterated brutality, and, and according to Gunn, an inciting intro music.
Peacemaker is healing from his wounded inflicted by Bloodsport and is saddled with Amanda Waller's minions, who must help Peacemaker on a new mission, when the series continues up where The Suicide Squad left off. The principal actor is john Cena, whose true name is christopher Smith. Steve Agee (as john Economos) and Jennifer Holland (as Agent Emilia Harcourt) reprise their roles from Suicide Squad, whilst Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma (as Vigilante), and Chukwudi Iwuji enter the ensemble in different positions.
Holland talks about the show's future in an interview with TVLine. She discusses how the show's conclusion (which airs next week) could indicate at a second season, as well as how Gunn handled season 1 with that in mind. "I believe that james approached Season 1 in part because he wanted to make sure that the storey was complete," she explains. "There might be pointers to other things, but I don't think he knew there would be a Season 2 when he created Season 1, if that makes any difference."
