Another 'Suicide Squad' miniseries is now in the works, according to hollywood director james Gunn. In a forthcoming episode of Deadline's 'Hero Nation,' Gunn announced the decision. ", he explained "We're currently working on something else, another tv show set in that universe. I'm not sure what to say." He also mentioned the second season of 'Peacemaker,' which just released episode 5, saying, "There's a fairly big likelihood of that."

"Right now, we're the largest show in the world," Gunn added, reporting from the Atlanta set of 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3'. Gunn has contacted HBO Max with the opportunity for a new series based on one of the characters from 'Suicide Squad,' as per insiders. According to Deadline, the project is still in its early stages, without anything scripted or greenlit, but HBO Max is interested predicated on Gunn's excitement for the concept.

While Gunn did not definitively reveal either Idris Elba's Bloodsport or Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn as the personas he's contemplating, it appears the two actors' calendars are currently too full to squeeze in a tv series. That, meanwhile, is subject to change. When asked if doctor Who veteran and 'Suicide Squad' star Peter Capaldi, who portrayed Thinker in the current film, would appear in the next 'Suicide Squad' series on HBO Max, Gunn smiled and added, "I'm at a loss for words. It'll be set in the same premise as Peacemaker, but I don't think it'll be in the similar style. It won't be as funny as Peacemaker, but it'll be set in the same realm."
