The third clash took place in Jaipur, in which sri lanka scored a huge score of 298 runs while playing first. Kumar Sangakkara played an innings of 138 runs in that match. In response, Team india won the match with 23 balls remaining and took a 3-0 lead in the series.

Meanwhile in this match, ms dhoni created a sensation in international cricket by playing an unbeaten innings of 183 runs. While chasing the target of 299 runs, the indian team lost Sachin Tendulkar's wicket early. In 2005 itself, dhoni started batting at number three for India. He first shared a partnership of 92 runs with Virender Sehwag. After that rahul Dravid, yuvraj singh and other batsmen kept coming and going, but dhoni thrashed the Sri Lankan bowlers.

Moreover ms dhoni scored an unbeaten 183 runs in 145 balls in that match. In this historic innings, he also hit 15 fours and 10 sixes. Through this innings, dhoni set the world record of making the highest individual score while chasing. But in the 2011 World Cup, Australia's shane watson broke this record. Watson played an innings of 185 runs in 96 balls against Bangladesh.
