They will keep changing IPL rules for Dhoni..!?
The rules have been changed to allow dhoni to play in the 2025 IPL series. However, no one has spoken openly about this yet. Former player mohammad kaif is currently speaking out about the rule change for Dhoni. Kaif says IPL rules will keep changing as long as dhoni wants to play. The 2025 IPL mega auction is said to be held in November. In this situation, the IPL governing body has announced some changes in the IPL rules before that. The most important of which is the rule of declaring players who have played for the indian team as local players.
It used to be that players who played for the indian team would be treated as international players. But now a slight change has been made in it. This means that players who have not featured in the indian team in the last five years will be classified as local players. The rule will see dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2019, be declared a domestic player as he has not played for india for five years. With that, CSK will retain him as a local player for just Rs 4 crore. With this, the CSK team will save around 8 crore rupees. This will help the team to buy other players during the auction. That is why this rule has been changed.
Commenting on this, mohammad kaif said, "We are going to see dhoni again in the IPL. He is fully fit. His strike rate is 200. He keeps good wickets. So I think the rules will be changed for him whenever he wants to play. " He added, "If he wants to play in IPL, he will. He is a player with such a personality. He can win big matches. He is also the captain of CSK. I think this rule is rightly changed. He is fully fit; and playing well. Why change the rule for him? Shouldn't he be allowed to play? This is right. Everyone knows that this rule is changed for a player like dhoni," said Mohammad Kaif.
