After 17 years, the indian team created history by winning the t20 world cup series. After this, the indian players who returned to mumbai were given an enthusiastic welcome by the fans. With lakhs of fans participating in the victory rally, the indian team was awarded a prize of Rs 125 crore by the bcci at the Wankhede stadium. This is the highest prize money awarded to the indian team in the history of BCCI. Following this, Sehwag, a former player, advised that the prize money given by the bcci should be given to the players not only to the coaches but also to the selection committee members. However, the details of who will be given to whom and how much amount were not disclosed.
Apart from that, various state governments are also giving prize money to the cricketers. In this situation, it has been revealed how much amount will be given to all parties like players, coaches, assistants, selection committee members, and reserve players in the prize money given by BCCI. Accordingly, 15 players selected for the indian team will be given Rs.5 crore each. Similarly, head coach rahul dravid will be given a prize of Rs.5 crore. After this, each of the coaching staff including batting, bowling, and fielding will be given Rs 2.5 crore each.
Similarly, it has been revealed that assistants, physiotherapists, and trainers will be given Rs. 2 crore each, the selection committee will be given Rs. 1 crore each, and the 4 people who traveled as reserve players will be given Rs. 1 crore each. The players of the indian team who won the t20 world cup in 2007 have been given Rs.80 lakh each and yuvraj singh alone has been given Rs.1 crore. It is noteworthy that the prize money has increased 5 times in 17 years.
