ICC has announced the total prize money for the 2024 t20 world cup series. For the first time, the ICC is co-hosting the series with the USA and West Indies. A total of 20 teams will participate in this 28-day series. Like the last 50-over world cup series, the ICC has also announced an incentive for the winning team of each match instead of just giving the prize to the winners. Accordingly, ICC has announced a total prize money of 93 crore rupees. This is more than twice the total prize money awarded in the IPL series. It is worth noting that 93 crore rupees have been paid out of a total of 46 crore 50 lakh rupees in the IPL series.
Similarly, the prize money of 1 crore 87 lakh rupees will be given to the team which will finish from 13th place to 20th place. Apart from this, an incentive of Rs 25 lakh will be given separately to all the teams if they win a match in any round other than the semi-final match. The ICC has announced this decision to help the smaller teams and their cricket boards.
