The 2024 t20 world cup series is being held in west indies and USA. In this situation, the ground was empty in the first match in west indies which shocked everyone. The international cricket Council (ICC) also included the united states as the west indies cricket organization was financially unable to host the entire world cup series. It aimed to popularize t20 cricket in America. Whereas in the west indies, the interest in cricket was declining and it was imperative to recover it too. But, on the contrary, it was a big shock that the fans of the west indies team did not come to the stadium in the first match they played at home.
After this, cricket fans are attacking the international cricket Council. Many people point to the ticket price as the main reason for this bad situation. Only if ticket prices are drastically reduced for matches other than those played by India, people will flock to watch the world cup matches in person. After that, some blame the indian team for some of the irregularities in the schedule. Since indian fans are the most cricket-watching fans in the world, all the matches are planned to suit the indian audience.That means the first match played by west indies was played at 10:30 AM local time. The t20 matches, which are usually held at night, have the highest number of spectators. Accordingly, all matches should be held after seven o'clock in the night. Instead, the international cricket Council has prepared the schedule so that some matches will be held at 6 am and some matches at 8 pm according to indian time.
Because of that people did not come to west indies for daytime matches. The same thing happened in the West Indies' first match. Apart from that 20 teams are playing in this world cup. Usually, there are only seven or eight teams at the most if we take them as strong teams. There are a total of 20 teams participating in this stage so the number of weak teams is high. As a result, the competitions become less interesting. Next, the pitches for this series are very dull. For example, the pitch in the match between west indies and Papua New guinea was dull. west indies took 19 overs to reach the target of 137 runs.
Similarly, in the match between namibia and Oman, both teams scored only 109 runs in 20 overs. After this, everyone is criticizing that there is no interest in the t20 tournament in this world cup series.
