After 12 years, the IPL Final is going to be held at Chepakkam Stadium in Chennai. The schedule for the 2024 IPL series has been released and it has been announced that the final match to be held on May 26 will be held at Chennai's Chepakkam Stadium. In two years 2011 and 2012, the IPL final was held at Chennai's chepauk Stadium. No finals have been held there since then. Now after 12 years, bcci has come forward to host the IPL final in Chennai. Whichever team wins the trophy in the IPL series in the last few years, the schedule is being prepared so that the final match of the IPL series will be held at that team's ground next year. In the 2023 IPL series chennai Super Kings won the trophy and bcci is planning to host the final match at the team's ground in Chepauk. So far CSK has won both the IPL finals in Chennai. One win and one loss out of those two. CSK beat royal challengers Bangalore in the final in 2011. However, CSK lost to kolkata Knight Riders in the 2012 IPL final at Chepauk.
