Umpire reduced 1 run from England..!? Chaos in the field..!?
The umpire's deduction of one run for the team in the first Test match against england has created a huge uproar. Even one run can always make a huge difference in international cricket. In that way, in the first Test match held in Hyderabad, england was given 6 runs in the first place due to India's mistake. But it was reduced by one run after that. This caused an uproar.
England players Rayhan ahmed and ben stokes were batting in Bumrah's over. Then Regan hit the ball thrown by bumrah in the square direction. An indian builder catches the ball on the boundary line and throws it. However, neither the wicketkeeper nor the player behind it liked to miss this ball. As a result, the ball went to the boundary. By then the Englishmen had run away by two runs. First, it was given six runs. But the umpire reduced the given six runs by one run to 5 runs. This caused an uproar.
The england players appealed to the umpire as to why a run was deducted. The umpire then said that the batsmen had not passed each other when the player fired the ball. He explained that a run was reduced due to this. But a similar incident happened in the 2019 ICC world cup final when the batsmen were not crossing each other when the batsmen were running and the ball went to the boundary. But in today's match, one run was given less. According to MCC Rule 19.8, both batsmen must have run past each other before the fielder fires the ball. Note that otherwise the run will not be awarded.
