PM narendra Modi's signals to the indian squad, according to india bowler mohammed shami, were significant. The prime minister had gone to the indian dressing room to console the squad after their world cup 2023 final loss to Australia. PM Modi met with each player individually and consoled them. He congratulated mohammed shami on his outstanding performance in the competition and hugged him. shami told ANI on Thursday, november 23, that the PM's gestures gave the team confidence at a time when morale was down.

"Such gestures are important (PM Modi meeting players). When the prime minister encourages you after that, it gives you confidence. Because your morale is already down. It is something really different," said shami was quoted as saying by ANI. The prime minister has already praised the indian team on his social media platform.

"Dear Team india, Your talent and determination through the world cup was noteworthy. You've played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation. We stand with you today and always," PM Modi said in a social media post, while also congratulating the Australian team for their heroics at one of the biggest stages of world cricket.
