India's New T20 Coach..!? BCCI is serious about it..?
BCCI is seriously considering appointing a new coach for the indian t20 team. The indian cricket Board is actively consulting to appoint a separate coach for India's t20 format only. The new coach-led indian squad for the indian t20 team is expected to be announced in January. This means that the indian t20 team will play the t20 series against sri lanka in january under a new captain and a new coach. It has been reported that hardik pandya will be officially appointed as the captain of the indian t20 team ahead of this series against Sri Lanka. Also, it is said that the bcci has decided to appoint a new coach for the indian t20 team in that line. rahul Dravid, who is currently working as the coach of the indian team, will work as usual for ODIs and Test matches. At the same time, a separate coach will be appointed only for t20 matches.
Test Captain: rohit sharma is also expected to captain the indian team till the upcoming World Test Champions series.
According to reports, the bcci feels that indian head coach rahul Dravid's workload is heavy as he is also coaching a 3-format cricket team. Thus, the bcci is considering splitting the coaching posts. Based on that, former indian captain M.S. dhoni is slated to be roped in as a director only in the t20 format. bcci hopes that through this, Dhoni's skills can be used to raise the standard of the indian cricket team and bring out the talent of the young players. According to the report, a decision is likely to be taken at the end of this month at the bcci board meeting.
