Team india defeated bangladesh in a thrilling last-ball match, mathematically advancing to the semifinals. Everyone once believed that india will lose this match. But the weather and KL Rahul's spectacular run out helped india come back into the game. india won this rain-affected game by five runs.



India failed to capitalise on its powerplay opportunity once more. Additionally, Rohit Sharma, the opener, was dismissed in the fourth over alone. Later, KL rahul (50 off 32 balls) and virat kohli (64* off 44 balls) finished up the innings. rahul scored his maiden fifty in this competition during the process. He left the game immediately after making a half-century. Then, surya Kumar Yadav (30) provided virat kohli with excellent support. hardik and dinesh karthik followed SKY out of the building and returned to the pavilion without saying a word. virat kohli continued to strike from the other end, though, and got his third fifties of the World Cup. His strike and Ashwin's brief appearance both contributed to india scoring 184/6.



In order to beat this total, bangladesh required a strong start. Opening batsman Litton Das provided exactly that (60 off 27 balls). He scored a fifty immediately in the powerplay, giving bangladesh the upper hand. The match was halted when the score was 66 to 0. The revised aim was 151 runs in 16 overs after the break. After the intermission, Das was chased away. In little time at all, Shanto left as well. After that, wickets continued to fall quickly one after the other. The indian bowlers fought back more powerfully and changed the course of the game. Nurul Hasan and Taskin ahmed drew bangladesh back into the game in the end.
