BCCI has geared up to show more exciting matches to cricket fans. For a long time, there was talk of starting the women's IPL, on which the latest update has come on Thursday. According to a report, the inaugural edition of the Women's IPL can be played in the year 2023. Let us tell you that the Women's t20 world cup 2023 is to be organized next year. bcci can field five teams in the inaugural edition. Each team can get a chance to play each other twice in the league stage.
The top-ranked team will directly qualify for the final while an eliminator match can be played between the second and third-placed teams. According to the report, each team will be allowed to play five foreign players in the playing XI. Out of these four players will be from ICC full member countries and one will be from Associate Nations.Let us tell you that in the men's IPL, there are usually four foreign players in the playing XI, in which there is no restriction that the players should be from full member countries or associate countries. The bcci office-bearers have not yet taken any decision regarding the teams. The tournament can be organized in two parts. Women's IPL can include 5 teams, which can be named after those parts of the country where there are no men's IPL teams.
