Sri Lanka defeated pakistan by 27 runs in the final of the Asia Cup 2022 on sunday to win the sixth title. Both the teams have data-faced each other four times in the final of the Asia Cup and three times pakistan has lost. Batting first, sri lanka scored 170 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target of 171 runs, pakistan were bundled out for 147 runs in 20 overs. In this way, sri lanka won the title of Asia Cup for the sixth time.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and invited sri lanka to bat first. sri lanka had a poor start and on the third ball of the first over, Naseem Shah clean bowled Kusal Mendis. After this, Haris Rauf bowled sharply from the other end and along with Pathum Nissanka showed Gunathilaka the way to the pavilion.
