The license for the last 5 years was auctioned for Rs 16,347 crore. At present, the bcci is expected to double its profits by more than 2 times to billions. So the next question from the fans is what are they going to do with so much money.
BCCI President sourav ganguly has responded to this. Speaking on the occasion, he said that they will keep that money and upgrade the stadium across the country and give a new experience to the fans. A lot of new stadiums are being built across the country. There are also some grounds to be renovated. He said that new facilities will be brought.
A new stadium is currently under construction in Jaipur. Plans have also been finalized for some more grounds. The National cricket Academy in Bangalore is very old with facilities. Therefore, work is underway to set up a new academy in the Devanahalli area near the Bangalore Airport.
This aside, there are already the famous Eden Gardens in Kolkata, West Bengal. However, the bcci plans to build a new stadium there. For this, Ganguly met chief minister Mamata Banerjee in person and consulted on the location of the ground.
