The bcci will receive an incredible Rs 49 lakh (approximately) for every ball bowled and Rs 2.95 crore for each over in the lucrative league starting with the upcoming season after selling the media rights to the indian Premier League (IPL) for the enormous Rs 48,390 crore for 410 matches. Since each IPL game would earn them Rs 118 crore starting in 2023—nearly twice (1.96 times) as much as an india home game—the richest cricket board in the world will become even wealthier.

According to a five-year contract of Rs 6,138 crore that Star india secured in 2018, the average cost of each home game for india is Rs 60 crore. Notably, during the previous cycle from 2018–22, the bcci made about Rs 55 crore from each IPL game.
