Exemplary Success! Pedalled to the Medal! Yogesh Kathuniya

Prime minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Discus Thrower yogesh Kathuniya for his "Exemplary Success" in winning the silver Medal at the tokyo Paralympics. Excellent performance is shown by yogesh Kathuniya. He was glad that the silver Medal he brings home. His exemplary achievement will encourage new athletes. Congratulations to him. The PM Modi posted on social media the felicitations message, wishing him the best in his future endeavours.



News agencies also spoke to Kathuniya on the phone on monday and commended him and appreciated the efforts of his mother to secure his success. Kathuniya thanked Modi for his good greetings.


Yogesh Kathuniya won the silver medal in his sixth and final try in the men's F56 event, when he sent the record to 44.38m at best. Kathuniya is a business graduate of the Kirorimal college of delhi University. Kathuniya, the child of an army man, was paralysed at the age of eight years and suffered coordination impairments.


"I'm so excited to win the silver medal, it's my first debut Game, but I'm glad to win. Some foul attempts I registered, but I returned in order to win the medal. I want to thank SAI, PCI and my mom for supporting me all my journey," said on monday, teary-eyed 24-year-old.


Kathunia's mother meena Devi said that her son's medal for silver was her gold. Haryana's Bahadurgarh's visuals showed the discus thrower's family and friends who celebrated his phenomenal victory. At the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai, yogesh Kathuniya has won the gold medal with the best jump of 42,51 metres which he reserved for the tokyo Games. And in 2018, at the 2018 Para Athletics Grand Prix in Berlin, he set a world record for the F36 category in his very first global competition.
