BCCI recommends Mithali Raj and Ashwin for Khel Ratna Award
Indian cricket Board has decided to recommend indian Women's team captain Mithali raj and indian Off-Spinner Ashwin's name for the Khel Ratna Award. At the same time, KL rahul, Bumrah, and Dhawan's names are beginning recommended for arjuna Award. A source from bcci said, "We were having some intense discussion regarding selecting the player names and finally after some time we have decided to send Ashwin and Mithali Raj's name for rajiv gandhi Khel Ratna Award.
Apart from them, we are also recommending Shikar dhawan for arjuna Award along with KL rahul and Jasprit Bumrah." The last date has been extended by the Ministry of youth Affairs and sports and now the new date for all the recommendations and submissions of applications is 21st of June.
All the applications will be eligible if they are related to sports. If their submission is accepted, a confirmation e-mail will be sent from the Ministry itself. Last year, indian opening batsman rohit sharma bagged the Khel Ratna Award along with rani Rampal, Manika Batra, and Vinesh Phogat. That was the first time 5 atheletes have bagged the honour in a single year and it was too special for everyone of them
