The ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Ramadan, is a very holy month. It has an important status among all the months. The month of Ramadan is for fasting, namaz, recitation and reading the Quran. But in the month of Ramadan, there comes a night in which the supreme religious book of islam 'Quran' was revealed. This night is called the night of Laylatul Qadr.

It is said that the Quran was delivered by Allah to the Prophet of islam Hazrat Mohammad Sahib through his angel Hazrat Jibrael Alaihissalam. The Quran is such a book in which neither any word can be added nor removed. Despite sects, sects and all the differences, Muslims believe that the Quran is a heavenly book and sent by Allah. The first verse of the Quran was sent down to earth in the month of Ramadan. In verse 185 of Surah Al-Baqarah of the Quran, Allah says that Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was revealed from the sky. But do you know which night among the 29 or 30 nights of Ramadan was the one in which the Quran was revealed?

The Night of Laylatul Qadr

In the last 10 nights of the third Ashra of Ramadan, there are 5 nights which are called Laylatul Qadr. These are the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th nights. Prophet Mohammad has asked to pray and ask for forgiveness on these nights. It is said that the entire book of the Quran was not revealed to the earth at once, but the book (verses) was revealed little by little in 23 years. But the first verse of the Quran was revealed on the nights of Laylatul Qadr of Ramadan.

According to Islamic belief, when Prophet Muhammad was 40 years old, he was praying to Allah in the cave of Hira during Ramadan, when the Quran was revealed. Although it is not clearly stated on which night the Quran was revealed. But it is said that the Quran was revealed on the night of Laylatul Qadr. But most of the companions believe that it was the 27th night. Therefore, the night of Laylatul Qadr is called the night of decree or the night of power, which is one of the most important nights of the Islamic calendar.
