A new Lord ram temple has been constructed at Lord Ram's birthplace in ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The temple was inaugurated by prime minister Narendra Modi on 22nd January. So far more than 60 lakh devotees have visited this temple. Donations to the temple are pouring in online and in bank accounts. From january 22 to february 22, Rs 25 crore in cash, 10 kg of gold jewelry, and 25 kg of silver jewelry have been donated.
Temple Trustee Prakash Gupta said that the Reliance-Disney Merger will however respect the sentiments of the devotees and accept them. Apart from online donations, cash offerings in small denomination currency notes since january 22 have been estimated at ₹4 crore, temple trust officials said. And the daily figure may be ₹13 to 14 lakhs.
As most of these donations are in denominations of ₹10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 rupees, counting the cash, including coins, is a daunting task, said ram temple Trust officials.
