Saudi Arabia has decided to increase the number of people coming from outside the country for Hajj this time - after two years of strict restrictions on Covid-19. Due to this, the number of Hajj pilgrims has been fixed at 10 lakh for this year.

However, this time only people below 65 years of age will be able to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage. Full vaccination will be mandatory for passengers. Also, people coming from abroad will have to show a negative corona test.


Before the corona infection, more than 25 lakh people from all over the world used to perform Hajj every year. Whereas last year only 60 thousand Saudi citizens were allowed for Hajj. saudi arabia earned $12 billion (over Rs 91,106 crore) every year before the pandemic from traveling to Islam's holy sites in Mecca and Medina during the week-long Hajj pilgrimage and the year-long Umrah. After two years, now the people of the Muslim community have got relief due to the increase in the number of passengers.


Hajj pilgrimage is considered very sacred among Muslims. It is said that every Muslim wants to do this journey in his life. This decision of the Saudi Arabian government will greatly affect those people who were not able to go to the Hajj pilgrimage due to Corona for the last two years.
