The Ramanujacharyas, who laid the foundation stone for tirupati and erected four-storied streets here for Govindarajaswamy, first laid the foundation stone for the city under the name Govindarajapuram on february 24, 1130.
The mla announced that the Govindarajaswamy temple, the four-storied streets, the Agraharas and other places have gradually come together to form the famous spiritual shrine of tirupati, henceforth the tirupati Municipal Corporation will celebrate Tirupati's birthday on february 24 every year.

Tirupati has thousands of years of history ..!However, historians err on the side that tirupati has a history of 892 years. Historians are reminded that there is still an idol of Lord krishna on the main Rajagopuram of the Govindarajaswamy Temple.
Why the objections?
It is a historical property. There is no evidence of this. There is no mention of it anywhere in the scriptures and books. It is not a historical fact except that it was uttered by someone recently.
Tirupati was the oldest name and there is no proof that there was a name before it. people we know, and those who worked with us, never mentioned tirupati by any other name. About Ramanuja, so it is in the tamil scriptures and biographies that he came here three or four times from an early age.
Although there is no evidence in the inscriptions or literature about tirupati, it can be assumed that the city certainly existed hundreds of years before the Ramanujas.
There was a small village called Kottur near Kapilathirtha. Thiruchanur is older than Tirupati. Before that, Thiruchanur was known as Thirukodavurunadu. tirupati did not exist then.Later, during the Chola rule, a feudal lord named Ryan Rajendra Chola built a village there. The name of the village is Kottur.
When the idol of govinda Raja Swami of chidambaram was thrown into the sea, Ramanujacharya took the idol out of the sea and sent it to Tirupati. The idol was then preserved on a conch ledge near the temple of lakshmi narasimha Swamy, a freshwater lamb named Srinivasapuram.
