The war of words and actions between the two newly formed
states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State would be hard hitting on consumers
if plans go through from both sides. It is very important for both states to
work in harmony to achieve progress.
Now with the imposition of tax on incoming vehicles from Andhra
Pradesh, TS earned one crore in a single day near Suryapet check post and 75
lakhs near Alampur check post which has made officials in TS happy.
But sources say that in case this is not withdrawn, then
even Andhra Pradesh may be forced to impose taxes on fuel imports to Telangana State
which happens from refineries in Kakinada and Vizag region.
The refineries here supply most of the fuel needed for TS
which may make fuel very much costlier for consumers in TS. Some are suggesting
the center should intervene and settle this issue. Hence the sooner these two
states compromise, the better.
