Difference between Jagan and KCR’s hunger strikes

Chowdary Sirisha

Telugu people are witnessed for two leaders Hunger strikes in Telangana and AP. KCR did hunger strike in 2009 that forced UPA government to announce the procedure of separate state Telangana. Of Course! There were many gossips and satires on KCR’s hunger strike but people’s dream come to true with his agitation. In the same manner, YSRCP President YS Jagan also did the agitation but miserably failed to identify pulse of the people.

Three major causes that made KCR’s agitation successful and the same causes lead to failure of Jagan’s agitation. Students, Media and leadership (Rosaiah) were the reasons for the success of KCR’s agitation. The then Chief Minister K. Rosaiah was unable to control law and order in the state and TRS cadre at the time when KCR doing hunger strike. Students from all universities and colleges were supported Telangana moment that indirectly forced KCR unwillingly on bed for some more days. Media was actively participated in the agitation.

All these three are missed now in Jagan’s agitation. Though YSRCP organized two meetings for Special status to AP, students didn’t respond to positively to YSRCP. Jagan couldn’t explain the advantages of Special status clearly to the people. It is huge setback to YSRCP for not gathering the support of Media. Except in Jagan’s Sakshi, none of the channels covered Jagan’s deeksha. Last but not the least is Chief Minister Chandra Babu successfully diverted the attention of people from Jagan’s agitation to Amaravathy foundation. Jagan lacked timing and and observed the real intention of AP people.
