Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin urged young people to stand together in helping the state remain a leading development state in India, emphasizing the importance of continued effort and participation.

Youth Support Key to Growth

At the “Champions of tamil Nadu” celebration held at the jawaharlal nehru Indoor Stadium in chennai — organized to honor five years of sporting achievements and support for athletes — the chief minister highlighted the role of youth in the state’s progress. He said that for tamil Nadu to sustain its development momentum, young citizens must remain actively engaged and supportive of future initiatives.

Celebrating Achievements and Empowering Talent

The event saw recognition of sporting talent from across the state:

  • Appointment orders were given to 178 sportspersons, including 62 para‑athletes, under the state’s sports quota.
  • Over 1,172 athletes received incentives totaling 33.50crore.
  • The foundation stone for a new 261‑crore international sports City in chennai was also laid, aimed at enhancing sports infrastructure and opportunities.
Vision for the Future

Stalin’s address linked sports success with broader state progress, saying that determination, consistency, and youth involvement are crucial — not only on the field but also in governance and development.
