RSS Suggests Anti-Incumbency Plan to BJP
RSS Advises assam bjp on Strategy for Hat-Trick Victory
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has advised the assam bjp unit to focus on issues of infiltration and demographic change to secure a third consecutive term in the upcoming assembly elections.
The RSS stressed that while these issues are important, the party should avoid exaggerating communal narratives and also highlight development achievements during the last two terms.
The advice came after a marathon meeting led by Co-Sarkaryavah Arun Kumar, which included feedback from various RSS affiliate organizations on election preparedness.
Focus on Development Alongside Core Issues
Feedback indicated that despite ten years of bjp governance in assam, achievements in development are being overshadowed by concerns about illegal immigration and demographic shifts.
The RSS emphadata-sized that the party should continue to discuss infiltration and demographic change but should not downplay the progress made in rural, tribal, and urban areas.
Over the past decade, the entire Northeast, including assam, has witnessed significant development, which the party must highlight in its campaign.
Addressing Anti-Incumbency Challenges
Anti-incumbency is a key challenge for the BJP after two consecutive terms in Assam.
To counter this, two and a half dozen constituencies have been identified for candidate replacement.
The Himanta-led government has also implemented a cash payment scheme targeted at women to consolidate support.
Single-Phase election Preparations
Assam Assembly elections are expected to be conducted in a single phase in April, with the schedule announced in the first week of March. The bjp plans to release its first list of candidates before the official election notification.
A panel of potential candidates has been prepared for over eighty assembly seats to ensure smooth candidate selection.
Strengthening Rural and Tribal Outreach
The RSS expressed concern over the BJP’s campaign being concentrated in urban centers, leaving rural and tribal areas under-engaged.
Feedback highlighted weak communication between the government and organizational units in these areas.
Recommendations were shared with State President dilip Saikia to improve direct dialogue, strengthen outreach, and ensure that election messaging reaches all segments of the population.
Overall, the RSS strategy aims to balance highlighting core issues like infiltration while promoting development achievements to secure a third consecutive victory for the assam BJP.
