Who Can Do It

Anyone with an Aadhaar card can update their mobile number through the new Aadhaar app. You no longer need to visit a physical Aadhaar centre for this.

Step‑by‑Step

Install the new Aadhaar app from the google Play Store or apple App Store.

Log in using your Aadhaar number and verify with biometric (data-face) authentication.

Go to the Services section on the app.

Tap Mobile Number Update.

Enter your new mobile number.

You’ll receive an OTP on the new number — enter it to verify.

Complete the process with data-face authentication.

Pay a processing fee of ₹75 inside the app.

After submission, your update request will be processed — it can take up to 15 days for the new number to reflect in Aadhaar records.

📍 Updating Your Address on Aadhaar

Two Ways to Update

You can update your address using the Aadhaar app in either of these ways:

With Address Proof Document

Proofs include Voter ID, Passport, electricity bill, Gas bill, bank statement, mobile bill, etc.

Upload the document when prompted in the app.

Verify with data-face authentication and pay ₹75.

Using a Family Member’s Aadhaar

If you live with a family member whose Aadhaar already has the correct address, you can use their Aadhaar number in the address update process.

The family member will get a notification to approve the update within the app.

After approval and payment, the update is processed.

Processing Time

After you complete the steps, the address update can take up to 15 days to reflect in the uidai database.
