Kerala CM Rejects Dileep’s Conspiracy Claim
CM Vijayan stated that investigators had acted based on the evidence available at the time and not as part of any conspiracy.
He emphadata-sized that Dileep’s claims appear to be attempts to justify his own actions.
“I don’t remember him submitting any representation regarding a conspiracy,” Vijayan said, adding that dileep himself should clarify the matter.
CM reaffirmed that the government’s stance has always been to support the survivor, and this will continue in the future.
Background of the Case
The case dates back to 2017, when a multi-lingual actress was allegedly assaulted by a group of men.
Dileep, a prominent actor, had been accused of orchestrating the attack indirectly.
The trial involved multiple accused, including sunil N S (alias Pulsar Suni), who was identified as the prime accused and directly involved in the assault.
Court Verdict
On Dec 8, the ernakulam Principal Sessions court acquitted dileep in the high-profile case.
Six other individuals, including the prime accused sunil N S, were found guilty.
In total, three others, along with Dileep, were acquitted.
The verdict was pronounced by Judge Honey M Varghese after a lengthy trial that concluded hearings on November 25.
Dileep’s Reaction
Shortly after his acquittal, dileep claimed a “real conspiracy” aimed at ruining his career.
He alleged that a top woman police officer and a group of police officials deliberately fabricated evidence against him.
Dileep also claimed that the prime accused and a co-inmate supported this alleged plot.
Government Response
CM Vijayan denied any conspiracy and stressed that investigators acted on evidence alone.
The kerala government has indicated it may appeal the lower court verdict.
CM reiterated the administration’s commitment to supporting the survivor of the 2017 assault.
