Ahmedabad: Union home minister
Amit Shah on sunday expressed strong confidence that the
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure significant victories in the upcoming assembly elections in
West Bengal and
Tamil Nadu. Addressing a public gathering in Ahmedabad, Shah claimed that the people across the country—particularly in these two states—have increasingly rejected the
Congress and its allied parties, paving the way for the NDA’s rise.
People Have Rejected congress, Says ShahShah asserted that the Congress-led alliances have been losing political relevance nationwide, highlighting recent electoral trends as evidence. According to him, voters are leaning towards “development-oriented politics,” which he credited to the leadership of prime minister
Narendra Modi.He stated that West bengal and tamil Nadu, both politically significant and historically challenging for the bjp, are witnessing a shift in public sentiment. “The people have rejected the congress and its allies in every corner of the country. They want stability, growth, and strong governance,” Shah said during his address.
Focus on West Bengal: nda Looks to Expand FootprintIn
West Bengal, where the trinamool congress (TMC) has dominated for over a decade, Shah claimed the nda is gaining momentum. The bjp, which emerged as the principal opposition in the last assembly election, has been working to consolidate its support base, especially in rural and data-border regions.Shah highlighted the central government’s welfare schemes and law-and-order initiatives, arguing that these would help the nda make deeper inroads this election cycle.
Tamil Nadu: bjp Eyes Growth Through AlliancesTurning to
Tamil Nadu, a state traditionally influenced by Dravidian politics, Shah voiced optimism about the NDA’s prospects. The bjp, which has been attempting to strengthen its presence through alliances with regional parties, is expected to focus heavily on youth outreach, social welfare messaging, and issues such as infrastructure development.Shah claimed that voter dissatisfaction with “dynastic politics” and the weakening influence of the congress and DMK-led alliances will benefit the NDA.
NDA Plans Aggressive Campaign StrategySources within the alliance have indicated that the nda will roll out an intensive, multi-phase campaign in both states, featuring:
- High-profile rallies
- Door-to-door outreach programs
- Social media campaigns
- Special focus on first-time voters
Shah emphadata-sized that the NDA’s campaign will highlight national-level achievements under the Modi government, from economic reforms to welfare schemes.
A Charged Political Atmosphere AheadWith elections drawing closer, both West bengal and tamil Nadu are gearing up for heated political battles. Shah’s remarks signal that the nda is preparing for an assertive push in regions where it has historically sought to expand its political presence.Political analysts expect campaign rhetoric to intensify in the coming weeks as all major parties mobilize their cadres and sharpen their strategies.
