Law Was Changed Before Verdict, Says Hasina’s Son ..?
She has been living in exile in New delhi since fleeing bangladesh in august 2024.
Her son, Sajeeb Wazed, has publicly rejected the verdict, calling the legal process illegitimate and politically motivated.
Verdict and Trial Process
The ruling against Hasina was delivered on Monday, following a rapid legal process, Wazed claims, that lasted only two to three months.
Wazed insists the trial was manipulated, alleging that laws were altered specifically to secure a conviction.
According to him, Hasina was not permitted to hire her own attorney, which he says further invalidates the fairness of the proceedings.
He argues that the verdict was predetermined, engineered by what he describes as an “illegal government.”
Wazed’s Condemnation
Wazed repeatedly referred to the judgment as a “sham trial.”
He told a news portal that the verdict was “engineered” and lacked any legitimacy.
He stated that the Awami League will continue to challenge both the ruling and the process that led to it.
Wazed emphadata-sized that the ruling represents the political motives of the interim regime rather than genuine judicial outcomes.
Claims of Political Vendetta
Wazed described the case as the “work of Jamaat and Islamist radicals.”
He argued that the verdict reflects revenge from groups hostile to Hasina and the Awami League.
He warned that bangladesh must choose between progress and becoming a radical Islamic state.
According to him, Islamists have backed the current regime, threatening the nation’s democratic trajectory.
Hasina’s Safety and Future Outlook
Wazed reassured that Hasina remains safe in India.
He stated that there is currently “no rule of law” in Bangladesh.
He predicted the downfall of the Yunus-led government.
Wazed vowed that Awami League leaders would eventually return to Dhaka.
Bangladesh has also issued a new extradition notice for Hasina following the sentencing.
