Step-by-Step Guide to Link Aadhaar with PAN

1. Via Income Tax e-Filing Portal

1. Go to the official Income Tax e-Filing portal: https://www.incometax.gov.in

2. Click on ‘Link Aadhaar’ under the Quick Links section.

3. Enter your PAN, Aadhaar number, and name as per Aadhaar.

4. Check the box to confirm if your Aadhaar has only the birth year.

5. Click ‘Link Aadhaar’. You’ll get a confirmation message once successful.

2. Via SMS

· You can also link PAN and Aadhaar via SMS:
Send SMS to 567678 or 56161 in the format:

· UIDPAN <12-digit Aadhaar> <10-digit PAN>

· Example: UIDPAN 123456789012 ABCDE1234F

3. By Visiting PAN service Centers

· Visit any NSDL or UTIITSL PAN service center.

· Submit a self-attested copy of PAN and Aadhaar.

· The operator will process your request and confirm the linkage.

4. Check Your Aadhaar-PAN Linking Status

· Visit the Income Tax e-Filing portal.

· Click on ‘Link Aadhaar Status’ and enter your PAN and Aadhaar number.

· The portal will display whether your PAN is linked successfully or pending.
