The decision to give the land of Kurla Mother Dairy for the rehabilitation of Dharavi residents under the Dharavi Redevelopment Project in mumbai is being opposed by the citizens. In this regard, a letter has been written to maharashtra CM devendra fadnavis informing about their opposition.

In the letter, congress MP varsha Gaikwad has written that under the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, the residents of Dharavi will not be rehabilitated in Dharavi but on the land of Mother Dairy in Kurla. Such a decision has been taken by the state government. Keeping in mind the interests of the developer, the rules and conditions have been changed to give the land of Kurla Mother Dairy, which is considered environmentally sensitive, for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project.

Botanical garden should be established

varsha Gaikwad has written in the letter that the Kurla residents are strongly opposing the giving of Kurla Mother Dairy land to the Dharavi Redevelopment Project. The citizens demand that instead of giving Mother Dairy's land to Dharavi Redevelopment Project, a Botanical Garden should be established there. There are more than a thousand precious trees in this area and this area is very important from the point of view of environmental balance.

Accusation of the government not paying attention to the demands of the citizens

According to the letter, protest rallies, movements and signature campaigns have been going on for many days by the citizens to save this land. But the government is not paying serious attention to this. Ignoring the protest of the citizens, the government has decided to give this land to the Dharavi Redevelopment Project. Due to this, the citizens are getting angry and intensifying the movement.

Therefore, this decision taken by the government without taking the citizens into confidence and completely ignoring public sentiments and environmental issues is being strongly opposed by the citizens. On behalf of the citizens, we humbly request you to immediately cancel this decision and establish a Botanical Garden at that place.
