In the land of incredible transformation, where every promise is a stepping stone to glory, the middle class has somehow found itself in the great abyss of history. Gone are the days of that ever-diligent, ever-struggling segment of society, toiling away in offices, schools, and factories to make ends meet. The much-ballyhooed "middle class" has vanished—almost like a mirage, fading with each passing day under the watchful eye of our beloved PM Modi, his trusted Finance Minister, and an army of well-meaning cabinet colleagues.

Sure, there’s the rich, prancing about in their multi-million-dollar mansions, looking down at the rest of us with a smile that says, “I didn’t get here by accident.” But that’s only a fraction of the population, right? After all, there’s also the "absolutely poor" crowd, increasingly growing and showing signs of hope, thanks to the innovative government schemes that allow them to survive without ever truly thriving.

But let’s talk about the real stars of Modi’s transformation—those in the middle, those who have always been the backbone of the nation’s economy. Remember them? The salaried employees, the ones who dutifully contribute to the economy by paying taxes, while being too "laacher" (helpless) to escape the crushing weight of the system. After all, they must pay taxes—it's not like they have enough power or influence to dodge it. They're simply too hardworking to escape. Bravo!

As PM Modi recently so brilliantly pointed out in his remarks about the Budget, and with a mere day before Budget 2025’s grand reveal, it’s almost as if he’s suggesting that the long-forgotten middle class might get a teeny bit of relief. Can we expect income tax cuts for the beleaguered, hard-working salaried class? Maybe, just maybe, there’s a hope. But in the midst of it all, let’s remember: 2.2% of the population is already paying income tax, mostly consisting of the very people who can’t evade it. You know, those who work hard but can’t seem to find their way out of the tax trap.

Meanwhile, those who’ve been fortunate (or shall we say “well-connected”) enough to stay out of this system are living the good life. They enjoy luxury and leisure, while the “middle class” watches in silence, forced to deal with the continuous onslaught of rising living costs and taxes, only to find themselves classified as part of the ever-growing poor class.

The government’s vision for distributing wealth to the most deserving has truly borne fruit. Because who wouldn’t want to see hardworking tax payers subsidizing the luxuries of others, while they get to be the ‘new poor’? Of course, all those freebies, grants, and allowances handed out to those who somehow never seem to contribute as much to the system are exactly the kind of measures that keep the new “middle” from even catching their breath.

In conclusion, let’s all raise a toast to this government’s masterful approach: from tax payers to tax collectors; from the hard-working middle class to the “new poor.” What a vision! What a transformation! The middle class is dead; long live the extremes!
