Shiv Nadar's company increased the salary of junior employees!
HCL Tech, the IT company led by Shiv Nadar, famous for his philanthropic work, has not increased the salary of its senior staff for two years. Nine months have passed in this financial year, but there is no hope yet. According to the report of Money Control, junior employees have received a nominal salary hike after a delay of nine months. From this level, the salary of most employees has increased by only one to two percent. The salary of top performers has been hiked by three to four percent. This is contrary to the announcement of HCL management, under which an average salary hike of seven percent and top performers were announced to be given 12-15 percent.
IT industry facing global challenge
The country's third largest IT company HCL Technologies is facing the circumstances arising at the global level like other IT companies. To avoid reduction in profit margin due to global challenge, the company is taking cautious steps on salary hike. Because, in any company, wage bill is a big part of its annual budget. In response to Money Control's questions, HCL said that every year a large number of people join their company. They can get increment only after a year. At the time of current increment, the term of such people might not have come. This is due to that. Apart from this, performance also matters a lot at the time of increment.
Narayana Murthy's company also postponed salary hike
HCL is not the first IT company in the country to delay salary hike. Earlier, Narayana Murthy's company Infosys has also postponed the salary hike of its employees. After nine months, now indications are being given about it. This too has not been announced yet.
