Curfew imposed in Palthi of Jalgaon district after clashes

Curfew had to be imposed in a village in Jalgaon district of North maharashtra after clashes broke out between the driver of a minister's car and a group of local residents over a minor dispute. Officials gave this information on wednesday morning. A senior police officer said that during the violence in Palthi village, several shops were set on fire and public property was damaged, after which seven people have been arrested.

Altercation between the driver of Gulabrao Patil's car and locals

The officer said that in Kasaiwada, a heated argument took place between the driver of the car of state minister Gulabrao Patil and a group of locals when the driver honked the horn and asked to give way.

Sanitation minister Patil was not present at the spot

Shiv Sena leader and Water Supply and Sanitation minister Patil was not present at the spot, but a member of his family was in the car. He said that although the argument ended on the spot, later some people of the area went to the village square and protested. After this another group reached there, after which clashes took place. The officer said that many shops were burnt in the village.

He said that additional police personnel, State Reserve police Force and riot control police teams along with fire brigade vehicles have been deployed in the village. He said that the situation is now under control.

Curfew will remain till six in the morning - ASP

Jalgaon ASP Kavita Nerkar said, "There was a dispute between two youth organizations. Due to the dispute, some shops and vehicles were set on fire. Vandalism took place at that place. An FIR has been registered against 20 to 25 people regarding this incident. Out of this, we have arrested seven people. Curfew has been imposed in Palthi village, which will be lifted at six in the morning depending on the situation. Right now there is complete peace in the village."
