Reportedly bjp has targeted uddhav thackeray over rahul Gandhi's statement on Veer Savarkar. bjp mla and minister Nitesh Rane said in a conversation with the media that 'Before asking me about rahul Gandhi's thinking about Veer Savarkar, his close aide uddhav thackeray and his party should ask. They should be asked whether they accept what rahul gandhi is saying.' Nitesh Rane said, ''Uddhav thackeray is still in the maha Vikas Aghadi and has started talking big Hindutva things. uddhav thackeray and his party should first answer about what rahul gandhi talks about Savarkar every day."

Meanwhile on the other hand, Nitesh Rane said about the anti-conversion law, "We have written it in our manifesto itself. The anti-conversion law which is in all the states, the same law has to be brought in Maharashtra. We will work on it." The shiv sena leader had mentioned Indira Gandhi's letter in the Parliament. After this, rahul gandhi said in the Lok Sabha, "I had talked to indira gandhi on this. She had told me that Savarkar had compromised with the British. Wrote a letter and apologized to the British."

Moreover both bjp and Eknath Shinde's shiv sena are angry at this statement of rahul Gandhi. Veer Savarkar's grandson Ranjit Savarkar has also objected to rahul Gandhi's statement. Ranjit Savarkar said that the documents that rahul gandhi has presented, read it, what is its source. There is no truth in his words.
